Attendance and Punctuality
The school gates are open from 8:40am and all children need to be in school for 8.45am.
It is the legal responsibility of parents to ensure their child attends school and is always on time. Good attendance at school enables children to cope more easily with school routines and work, thereby making learning more satisfying and ensuring greater progress both socially and academically.
If your child is unwell please inform us by 9.00am on the first day of absence and continue to contact us on a daily basis, we will require medical evidence if your child is absent from school for a long period. It is our policy to follow up any unexplained absences immediately. We monitor attendance and punctuality closely and where necessary work with parents to support them on improving their child’s attendance and punctuality at school.
Thank you to all of those parents that have followed the guidelines for term time leave. Please continue to improve our attendance by following the guidance below:
Term Time Holiday Requests
Amendments to School Attendance Regulations “Amendments to the 2006 regulations remove references to family holiday and extended leave as well as the statutory threshold of ten school days. The amendments make clear that head teachers may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances.”
